Recognition for your commitment to safety

COR and SECOR preparation, start to audit day

A Certificate of Recognition can mean lower WCB premiums, more bids and a better program. We help you earn it and keep it: a gap analysis against the audit standard, the program work to close the gaps, and guidance from an ACSA certified peer auditor who knows what an auditor will ask for.

Gap analysis against the audit standard

We compare your program and records with the audit standard element by element and tell you what is missing, what is weak and what is already strong, so the work is aimed where it counts.

Building out the program

We write or rebuild what the gaps call for: policies, hazard assessments, inspections, training records, investigations and the rest. Then we help you put it into practice so the evidence is there when the auditor arrives.

Guidance from a certified peer auditor

Our lead consultant is an ACSA certified peer auditor and has guided many companies through COR certification. That means preparation that matches how audits are actually done: the records, the interviews and the observations.

Who calls us for this

  • Companies going for COR or SECOR for the first time
  • Certificate holders with a maintenance audit coming up
  • Companies that failed an audit, or passed narrowly, and want a stronger result
  • Small employers working toward SECOR

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Gap analysis

Where you stand against each element of the standard.

  2. Step 2

    Plan

A prioritized plan with timelines toward your audit date.

  3. Step 3

    Build and implement

Program work, records and supervisor coaching.

  4. Step 4

    Pre-audit review

A final internal review so you go into the audit ready.

What you have at the end

  • A gap analysis report by audit element
  • A program that meets the standard, with its records
  • Interview and observation preparation for your team
  • A maintenance plan for the years between certification audits

Questions

Do you conduct the COR audit?

No. TruStar does not conduct COR or SECOR certification audits. We prepare you for the audit, which is done by an auditor through your Certifying Partner.

How long does it take to get COR?

It depends on where your program starts. A company with a solid program may be ready in a few months; one starting from scratch needs time to build the program and produce the records an auditor will look for.

What is the difference between COR and SECOR?

SECOR is the Small Employer Certificate of Recognition, for smaller employers, with an audit suited to their size. COR is for larger employers. The thresholds and process are set by each province's program.

Can software help us stay ready?

Yes. TruStar Connect scores your documentation against the audit standard, element by element, so you know your readiness all year instead of only before the audit.
